Good food, good ambience, friendly staff. The portion sizes are generous and priced decently. Most important thing is that it's CASH ONLY. The neighbourhood has some nice bars & coffee shops too.
MoreOrdered a steak quesadilla and it has to be by far the worst quesadilla I ever had. It was all soggy and not even cut. My whole tortilla on top just fell off and I didn’t even order a drink because a can of soda was $3.50. That’s ridiculously high for trash. Never will come back to this place.
MoreFavorite go to Mexican place. Best black bean plantain quesadilla.
I've been coming to Pequeña for about six years now...it's one of my favorite places in all of New York City. The staff are always warm and welcoming, the interior of the restaurant is quirky and colorful, and the food is sublime. Everything on the menu is fantastic, but I would recommend the chicken enchiladas with Salsa Verde. The key lime pie has also got me hooked. Love coming back to this energetic and special place.
MoreVery tiny bustling place, but go here if you are looking for decent drinks and food. Much better than some of the "fancier" Mexican restaurants. If it's crowded, they will take your phone number and you can walk over to "Greenlight books" next door, and they will call you when you have a table. CASH only.
MoreStumbled on this spot in Brooklyn and decided to try it. It's now one of my favorites. Fresh, authentic Mexican food with a burst of good flavors. The salsa was also incredible. They pour a Chipotle sauce over pico de gallo so you can mix it up as you like. You have to get the chips and salsa to try it.
MoreFood was great!!! Place is small, be ready to add your name on the list. Lucky for me I got there before all the tables got full. I would go back. I had the Vegetable quesadilla as well as the sweet plantains. Yum yum! Oh yes be ready with cash. CASH ONLY.
MoreAmazing food! The fish tacos are sooooooo great! I particularly liked the sautéed fish tacos the most. The salsa was nice and fresh. The jalapeños added a fresh kick to the very fresh mixture. The next time I’m in Brooklyn and I’m craving Mexican food, I’ll definitely be back.
MoreGreat hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant!
Great limeade! Good spot for breakfast / brunch. Cash only!! Cute decor.
The wait was short and it's a small cozy place. Great for intimate conversations. The host was very nice and welcoming. The food was delicious and I would definitely eat here again.
MoreOrdered 4 tacos and the only one even close to flavorful was the skirt steak. The margaritas tasted like they were poured straight out of a premade mix bottle.
MoreThe food is pretty good, but the service was just not. We showed up and asked to be seated, and were asked to wait while the hostess scurried around and tended to already seated tables. After being seated, we were brought water but no menus. The waitress checked on the table next to us three separate times without acknowledging we were there. After we got our menus, we were ready to order for a good five minutes while waitstaff were tending to that same table, cleaning off tables that weren't being used next to us, etc. I just got a bad vibe from it - it was busy but but full, so why aren't you just taking our order? It wasn't anything egregious but just subpar enough for me not to return. Cash only, you have to pay for chips, and good but not great standard Mexican fare that's hard to mess up. Not enough to overcome the service.
Morei had a pretty good burrito here circa 2017, but when i returned for dinner just a month ago the food quality and service had declined drastically. i dont really understand why this place has so many good reviews. the food is far from authentic Mexican, and even further from fresh.
MoreOne of my all time favorite mexican spots it’s small but so good! portions are great! & it’s authentic mexican oh and their margaritas are so delicious! I moved to DC and I still talk about this place and send anyone I know that’s in the area to go check it out.
MoreAwesome and delicious food, I like the vibes the spot has, and the staff members were super friendly. Will surely eat here again.
MoreCash only and very small restaurant. We ordered the coconut margaritas they were warm even though it had ice. The couple next to us was complaining about the same thing. Food was alright they don't sell burritos either.
MoreExcellent host. Stellar service and even better food! Nice cozy and super friendly upbeat environment and staff!
MoreGet the nachos - best "pile-on" style i've had so far in NYC. The frozen margaritas are also pretty legit - not very lime-y but actually refreshing. These made up for the enchiladas which were just fine. Decor / ambiance unpresuming, fun!
MoreGood mexican food in a causy place
Absolutely delicious! This is one of my partner's favorite restaurants. We came on a double date with my friends. The steak tacos were very good. The pork tostadas were excellent. The chicken quesadillas were awesome. The rice was not bad and black beans were great. Overall, a really fantastic restaurant with pretty decent prices--but it's cash only! Be prepared
MoreGreat margaritas, nachos, and plantains. Cash only.
Food was good and portions were generous. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Subtracted one star for being cash only.
MoreGood for quick Mexican in the neighborhood, pretty good flavor but I wasn't impressed with the quality
MoreVery Tasty food ,Excellent Service , full points on Everything
Three words: New. Favorite. Spot. I've been avidly searching for good Mexican food out here in NYC for months, and I think I've finally found it. The chips were perfectly thick and salted, the guac was flavorful, and I actually did a little dance in my seat after the first bite of my burrito. Also, woman-owned with a rainbow flag and Black Lives Matter sign in the window! I will be back again and again and again.
MoreI've tried a few tacos about the place but these are my favourite - tasty fillings, reasonably priced
MoreFood was super delicious but service was bad. No smiles, neither asked how we liked the food. Would have given 5 stars, if the service was better.
MoreSolid Mexican in the area. Large portions and decently priced. Small space, but they make it work.Delivery is always consistent too.
MoreLove love their fried fish tacos..best in Brooklyn
Excellent food with large portions. I was not expecting the quality or quantity of food. The menu is great. Drinks are so so however.
MoreThe staff here are great, they really make the place, and the decor is nice. The food is average, some of it seems reheated and really lacks flavor—there is much better Mexican in Brooklyn but this is a nice enough place to get dinner in fort greene
MoreThe place is loaded with a great feminity vibe , it is operated by female staff only and the taste is Superior. I wish it was a bit cheaper.
MoreI haven't experienced this great restaurant yet.... because its cash ONLY. Everyone loves this resturant. It is a small location, literally elbow to elbow near strangers but the smell and look of the food is intoxicating. I will be back. Finally I am here. The food is great, filling and tasteful. Still cash only. They serve breakfast menu until 5pm!!!!
MoreThe food as always is sublime. The service is good. The restaurant is small and there is a wait but it's worth it. Authentic, fresh and delicious
MoreFood is delicious, service eh.
I thought the nachos were great! It’s a small place, so not great for big groups, but we had 4 on a Thursday and didn’t have to wait at all. It’s nearby other cute spots and bars. The drinks were tasty and decently strong. Others had the burritos and the Caesar salad and were happy with their choices. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly and the service all around was great.
MoreVery creative and tasty Mexican food. Everything was perfect and very friendly staff. This is a welcoming place. I am from Texas and love Mexican food. This place does it right. A good long happy hour as well. I will be a regular.
MoreThe vibe is great, food is delicious and decently priced, and service is really good. Call ahead to make sure they have a table bc it’s a small place. CASH ONLY.
MoreIt's tasty and it's easy to eat vegan!
Great brunch! Portions are huge and the service is friendly. It's def a small place so make a reservation!
MoreWe took out tacos and tortilla soup. The tacos were bland and devoid of taste. The soup resembled a poor relative of the original. Go to Food & Wine website and get their recipe!
MoreNot sure if it was because it was late in the evening or what, but we were served stale chips and guacamole, like those things didn't even crack or crumble when they fell to the ground like a fossil. We requested another order, same thing and overloaded on that pepper powder on the chips. The place was super cute and community galore there eating as well. But think they need new cooking staff.
MoreOne of my favorites I been coming for years even when they was located on Vanderbilt Avenue
MoreGreat place. Simple and basic, but the food is excellent. The decor is beyond awesome.
MoreGreat vibe. Fast service. Delicious food
Extremely rude service. Long wait. And bad margarita mix. When I asked the waitress to excuse us, and allow a friend to sit, she proclaimed just a moment, and continued to take a new order from the adjacent table. After several seconds, I asked her again saying it would only take a moment for her to step aside and let the person sit, she then loudly proclaimed, “I amdoing my job.” They then added a gratuity to the check on a table of three. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in Brooklyn.
MoreI really liked the ambience and service at this restaurant. The food is good and reasonably priced. They also have a bunch of vegetarian options.
MoreDecent (and cosy) digs, friendly staff, good food. The overfilled tacos are good from volume point of view but kinda hard to eat. The food definitely needs more seasoning and spices though- and what Mexican place doesn't have varieties of hot sauce on the table?! Prices are on the higher side too- and then they make you pay in cash...
MoreReally good service from Courtney. Food was great beyond my expectations.
